Novels Update
Raptures is now available for purchase on LuLu.com and on my website bookstore. In the future the book will be available on Amazon, and sales through that venue will be preferable because of the inherent marketing advantages Amazon provides.

In the meantime, I've completed production on White Light and will try generating some interest in it at the World Horror Con in Salt Lake City, March 27-30, where Robert Pratten will be screening MindFlesh (see below).

MindFlesh Update
MindFlesh has been completed and will be making the rounds at film festivals throughout the year. Robert Pratten's film has already received some good reviews and hopefully the film will do well enough to generate interest in White Light. Robert and I are planning to participate in a panel at the World Horror Convention in Salt Lake City on the subject of adapting a novel for the screen. The panel will either follow or precede a screening of MindFlesh. Recently, we had a little excitement on YouTube and Facebook: both social networking sites censored the MindFlesh trailer playing there!

A Legacy of Hope
In the late 1950s and early 1960s my father, William X. Scheinman, worked for political change in Kenya. One of his main projects was an airlift of East African students to the U. S., the brainchild of his great Kenyan friend Tom Mboya. My father's biggest achievement in this area was to persuade John F. Kennedy (then a U. S. Senator) to use Kennedy Foundation money to fund the airlift, which thereafter became known as the Kennedy Airlift. Of the hundreds of students who came to the U. S. as a result, one student in particular is relevant to our current political scene: Barack Obama senior. So, the legacy of my father's good work can be seen today in the candidacy of Barack Obama of Illinois. Here's to you, dad, for your own audacity of hope.

On Retreat
I'll be on a silent meditation retreat for most of the month of March at Spirit Rock in Marin County. This will be my longest period of intensive retreat and I have absolutely no idea what will happen. Wish me luck.

That's it for now. I'll have another update in the spring. Take good care, everyone.
